Artist's Book in 3d-print

Carried out by the International Centre of Graphic Arts and RogLab

24.05.2013

The International Centre of Graphic Arts and RogLab are offering an exceptional opportunity to learn how to creatively and artistically express yourself through the ever more popular medium of 3D printing. The two part workshop is aimed at primary school children and youth.

The International Centre of Graphic Arts has a vast artist’s book collection. These are not books on art, but works of art in the form of books. The workshop is an experiment and research into the field of artist’s books linked to new printing technologies.

Friday, 24th May, between 4 pm and 8 pm: In the first part of the workshop the participants will try to find the right approaches with which they will create their own artist’s book under  the mentorship of the artist Mladen Stropnik. The first part of the workshop will take place in the International Centre of Graphic Arts.

Thursday, 30th May, from 5 pm onwards: In the second part of the workshop we will demonstrate a demonstration of 3D scanning and 3D printing which will lead to interesting results – miniature models of artist’s books. This part of the workshop will take place in RogLab.

The workshop is organised within the frame of the exhibition Password: Printmaking, which is on display at MGLC until 26th May.
