3D digital Modeling: Sketchup - level 2

Training for fast 3D modeling with CAD (Computer Aided Design) software Sketchup will take place at RogLab. Second level training will be held on Thursday, May 22, from 4pm to 8pm. You are cordially invited to apply! Trainings are conducted in English language with constant presence of Slovenian assistant.

Sketchup is a 3D modeling software ideal for introducing digital design because of its intuitive building and transformation tools and its user-friendly environment. Experienced CAD users will discover a powerful tool for extremely rapid 3D visualization and modeling. The Sketchup platform is the most widespread 3D modeling package currently available and has a huge community of users sharing their models and designs, as well as their technical support, through the Sketchup 3D warehouse.

General Information:


Objective: To discover and master the most important tools that the Sketchup platform has to offer to do 3D digital modeling.

Target audience: Architects, designers (particularly interior and product designers), game developers, industrial engineers, craftsmen, makers and anyone with a creative mind who wants to develop their own designs in a digital form and is a newcomer in the world of CAD software.

Working language: English with a Slovene speaking assistant.

Workshop material: Participants must bring their own personal laptop with the latest version of Sketchup installed and wheel mouse (recommended).

Number of participants: 6 to 7 people

Level 2: Advanced Modeling Tools, Rendering and Animations with Sketchup


Objective: To acquire full 3D modeling skills, including advanced modeling tips, and explore and get used to all of the expressive representation possibilities that the Sketckup design platform provides. At the end of the course, participants will be able to take on any Sketchup project and be ready to create their own digital images and animations for presenting their creations to others successfully.

Prior knowledge and experience needed: Be comfortable with the Sketchup environment and interface; and be familiar with the use of Sketchup’s shape and transformation tools.
