The world of composites is extremely vast and diverse. It is not only about a fancy engine cover on a sports car. We encounter composite structure in our everyday lives: when a bicycle passes us by, when we look up in the air and we spot a plane, and also at home, when we stand on them while taking a shower.

The lecture and the workshop are aimed at designers, architects, engineers, artists, makers and all those who are curious about the advantages and disadvantages of composites and about their use. In order to better understand the matter, the lecture will be followed by a practical part, where we won't only risk getting our hands dirty – therefore we recommend you wear clothes you don't care much about. With the newly acquired knowledge, we will fabricate a glass and carbon fibre reinforced beam structure.

After the workshop you will get an insight on composites, on what they are and how you can make use of them in your line of work. We will also be glad to help you develop concrete ideas for composite products.
