The Eurocities awards recognise outstanding achievements in the delivery of local activities or practices, which improve the quality of life for citizens. Entries are judged by an independent jury that awarded the City of Ljubljana and RogLab, our creative hub, the award for innovation over the co-finalists in the category, Düsseldorf and Strasbourg.
Join us on 25 May for the guided bike tour of Rognik spatial installations organised by the Ljubljana Cyclists’ Network: our meeting point is Cukrarna Palace and we start at 9:30 pm. Tina Mozetič’s project is part of the Lighting Guerilla festival.
To work with teachers to develop training programmes that would introduce children to the world of digital fabrication technologies, in the framework of the Central-European project FabLabNet, RogLab announced the competition entitled My school can be a makerspace!.
At the first RogLab Creathon we’ll create urban dens together, modular pavilions or spatial designs for activities that we want to do outdoors, a bit removed, but not completely isolated.
The main theme of the Cabinet of wonders project, featured at Lighting Guerilla festival, are unusual and outdated objects, interpreted using modern artistic ways of expression, digital manufacturing technologies and museum methodologies by the participants of the workshop.
Together with members of “ČIPke” initiative we looked into the concept of nature as an equal blend of technological, biological and anthropological dimensions. We used wearable electronics to make hats for the heads of three techno heroines – wild hags that know how to tackle wild flowers as well as untamed technology.
Between 19 April and 5 May, RogLab became one of the work stations for young women and men from Bavaria, visiting Slovenia in the context of the international youth exchange project Take off! Take in!, led by Zavod Horus.
You are kindly invited to join us on 23 May at the Ljubljana Botanical Garden for the opening of the Magic Forest installation, created especially for the Lighting Guerrilla festival by the children who attended Saturday workshops.
The ČIPke Initiative, RogLab and Rampa Lab prepared a workshop called Female Avatars – Virtual and Real Spaces under the mentorship of inter-media artist Tank Thunderbird.
